A Study of Festivity
I’m an MA candidate for the Creative Writing Program at Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park, CA. At the same campus, I majored in English (Creative Writing) with a minor in Film Studies. I also hold a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from The Art Institute of Las Vegas. I enjoy working on multimedia projects that integrate art, film, mMSLogo2usic and writing into visionary concepts that entice creative thought and action. I am the co-owner of a media production business, Magic Spiral. My partner and I hope to expand our vision and build a kick-ass team. Visit us to see what we’re up to these days!
This blog was created for a COPLAC distance course conducted by Professors Cathy Kroll and Whitney Snow. The course studies humanities in the form of festival celebrations and ethnographic studies. I plan on doing a project that will focus on a local festival and provide intensive research, interesting tidbits, interviews, video and audio clips, and even the actual experience of the festival as it rolls into town.
Please feel free to comment on my blogs and offer your own insights, experiences, questions and responses. The more we interact, the more we can endeavor to understand each other and create a sense of community. I mean, isn’t that the whole point of being human? Of course, that’s up for debate . . . do share your thoughts on this! I’d love to hear them.

We went to the movies the other night at the theatre where the Silver Scream Festival will be held. There were ads everywhere for it. I’m excited to attend. I had emailed their…
I chose the Anytime Fitness center in the Larkfield shopping center for my ethnography assignment. Larkfield-Wikiup is a quiet, rural-ish, unincorporated town located about five miles north of Santa Rosa, CA. It boasts…
Saw this in my Facebook feed today, thought I’d post here for reference. Looks like this is an international compilation, which makes for interesting study. Thoughts, anyone? 300 Best Festivals for 2016
So here I begin my journey exploring general and local culture through festivals. I’ve checked out a few local events that seemed interesting to me: the San Francisco Tea Festival, the Fisherman’s Festival…
